The hospital was torn down a few dozen years ago. Ironically, today the headquarters of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is on the location along with a driver license center. I once lived in the area. Although a life long Nashviile resident, I heard of the murder for the first time today listening to the Pastor J Vernon McGee's Bible Study off the Internet. A policeman in McGee's church invited him to the exhumation in 1934. He said he never forgot it.

Clarence
currently residing in East TNAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01277419420124468865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072125047008275922.post-9337486778900578472016-05-25T19:48:10.920-07:002016-05-25T19:48:10.920-07:00The actual name of the hospital was the Middle Ten...The actual name of the hospital was the Middle Tennessee Tuberculosis Hospital, and it was located in Inglewood, but I don't know the specific location. I tried to find the address of the "Davidson County Tuberculosis Hospital" but only found an archive of pictures that all have that title but multiple buildings, so I'm not sure if there is/was a single such complex or multiple TB hospitals in Davidson County, but it would be interesting to know the address/locations of her home, the school, and the burial site.

As well as how the mail was handled at that time, because there is NO coincidence that the postcard that was postmarked from Augusta, Georgia indicating her eyes would be burned out with acid was sent by the perpetrator(s). 82 years on, if any of the original evidence especially that postcard, the iron spike murder weapon, the rag stuffed in her mouth, and her clothing books and pink lunchbox are still around, perhaps something, anything can be revealed by forensic testing. As well as more information on the case that happened 4 years later mentioned where the 12 year old was raped and murdered with 3 teens convicted. It was generally believed by my grandmother, as related by my mother, Martha Jean Distelhurst (Dorothy Ann's sister), that the kidnappers got the wrong girl. Once they realized their mistake, they killed Dorothy and moved on. This could also have been a form of denial on my family's part. Kidnap and murder was hard enough to absorb, let alone sexual molestation.Gnossarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07927084270673685637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1072125047008275922.post-23893023081465609462011-09-05T23:14:21.930-07:002011-09-05T23:14:21.930-07:00Gnossarian,
